OnColor™ PPROTINT™ colorants are concentrates formulated to provide outstanding transparency for clarified polypropylene applications.
Key Characteristics
OnColor PPROTINT colorants contain no dyes. Consequently, they often have better light stability when compared with competitive products, and they won’t bleed, crock or migrate. They can be formulated in virtually any hue, along with the 18 standard shades including:
- Lemon
- Shamrock
- Tropical Punch
- Raspberry
- Licorice
- Ocean Blue
- Royal Blue
- Root Beer
- Tangerine
OnColor PPROTINT Colorants are supplied in a pelletized, non-dusting concentrate and formulated with a polypropylene-compatible carrier system that will minimize clarity reduction over multiple heat histories. OnColor PPROTINT may be used with any polypropylene resin, but will only be transparent in clarified polypropylene.
A typical letdown ratio for an OnColor PPROTINT colorant is 50:1 (2%), which ensures even distribution of the color in the end part. Letdown ratios of 25:1 (4%) may be recommended for very weak tints to ensure even color distribution in the end parts. Ratios as low as 100:1 (1%) and 200:1 (0.5%) are possible, but require good metering and mixing equipment in the customer’s process.

OnColor PPROTINT Colorants are compatible with the letdown resin and will process well in thermoplastic applications. They are commonly used in injection molding applications.
