The following lubricants and reinforcements enhance the performance of LubriOne compounds.

Lubricants:

• PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) offers the lowest coefficient of friction of any internal lubricant, and results in significantly lower wear rates than traditional plastics.
• Silicone behaves primarily as a boundary lubricant, and significantly reduces wear rates and coefficients of friction when compounded into thermoplastics at low levels.
• Molybdenum disulfide is typically compounded with nylon resins to reduce wear rates.

Reinforcements:

• Glass fibers are a cost-effective reinforcement to increase the compound’s stiffness and strength and improve resistance to long-term creep.
• Carbon fibers with a high strength-to-weight ratio are ideal for applications with stringent stiffness and strength requirements.
• Aramid fibers reduce the wear of the mating surface and improve the performance of the entire assembly.
