Geon™ CPSIA-Compliant Flexible Vinyl Compounds offer alternative solutions for markets and applications that are affected the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). The CPSIA limits the uses of six specific phthalate plasticizers, as well as limits the use of lead in toys or other articles intended for use by children under the age of 12.
These compounds offer a wide range of flexibility and excellent performance characteristics but are made regulatory-complying plasticizers and other raw materials. Geon CPSIA-Compliant compounds can be injection-molded or extruded, and can be custom formulated to meet specific customer requirements. There are several alternative plasticizers (including non-phthalate solutions) available today to respond to this challenge. In all cases, the decision as to what the alternative plasticizer should be used requires careful consideration to the specific end product, its requirements and intended use.
